What You Learn
- Learn the basic technique of wool felting
In this workshop participants will learn the ancient craft of felt making using pure merino wool. Several layers of carded wool will be laid out to the required thickness then using the essential factors of moisture, friction and heat these layers will felt together,
This can then be used as a table placement or stitched into a small purse.
Participants will learn to apply a range of techniques. The steps are easy to repeat at home, once you know the process. The possibilities are endless! Learn from the best and very experiences felter!
This will be a wonderful morning to spend with your friends, learning to create!
About Jenny Griffin
Since being introduced to felt making 20 years ago Jenny has continued to learn more techniques through attending annual workshops with both national and international tutors at various textile forums.
Her felt work has been in several exhibitions in Portland and Port Fairy as well as the Geelong Scarf Festival. Some of Jenny’s work is currently on display for sale at the MUD Gallery in Hamilton. Jenny loves the versatility of felting and is fascinated by the endless possibilities it offers
